Shipping Production Software Engineer with Typescript, Next.js (App Router), React, in production
The Role
Founding ENGINEER. You set technical direction, write the hardest code, and build the systems that carry from thousands to millions of users. You report to the founder.
Experience Required
- 8+ years shipping production software, including 3+ years at a startup that scaled from low thousands to 1M+ users.
- Was engineer 1-5 at an early-stage company, OR joined a now-200+ person company before headcount hit 50.
- Has owned production incidents end-to-end: detect, diagnose, fix, postmortem.
- Has shipped consumer or prosumer mobile web at scale.
- Bonus: voice, transcription, or AI-product domain experience (Otter, Rev, Fireflies, AssemblyAI, Granola, ElevenLabs, Tavus, or similar).
Skills Required
- TypeScript, Next.js (App Router), React, in production.
- Postgres at scale: online migrations, partitioning, query optimization on 100GB+ databases.
- Production queue systems (SQS, Inngest, Temporal, BullMQ, or equivalent) at 10k+ jobs per minute.
- LLM cost and latency optimization with Anthropic or OpenAI: prompt caching, model routing, batching.
- Multi-vendor integration: Stripe webhooks with idempotency, Twilio, Deepgram or comparable transcription, Cloudflare R2 or S3.
- Mobile web reliability including iOS Safari edge cases: background tab throttling, microphone state, IndexedDB quirks.
- Observability fluency: Sentry, PostHog, structured logging, SLIs that page before users complain.
