About the Role:

We are responsible for supporting clients across a variety of domains, including the hospitality segment. Factspan leverages optimization and statistical modeling to deliver projects and drive business value.

The team is responsible for partnering with Client(s) on various development, prototyping, and research initiatives by providing engineering services. The Factspan team is seeking a Sr. associate in operations research to work on optimization related initiatives. In this position, the candidate will have tasks to develop, implement, enhance and support the solutions. The work will involve various data engineering, operations research modelling activities throughout the project.

What You Will Do

Work assignments may cover activities such as participation in requirements gathering, building optimization code, developing and maintaining pipelines, producing input datasets for science models. In addition to technical abilities, the role is responsible for developing an understanding of the business domain and processes, then applying that knowledge to the assigned deliverables. This role communicates progress to the project leadership team, and actively participates in meetings and discussions.

Technologies generally leveraged to fulfill the work include, but are not limited to, Python, SQL, Gurobi and GitLab.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3-5 years of overall technical experience
• Experience with operations research modelling techniques such as assignment problems, integer programming, queuing theory, etc
• High Proficiency in SQL coding
• Proven experience and expertise using Python
• Ability to showcase an understanding of one or more business domains
• Prior experience gathering and refining data requirements and producing data design solutions
• Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product such as GitLab/GitHub
• Able to optimally formulate solutions and communicate sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Handson experience in operations research
• Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based
• Knowledgeable on cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
• Experience using containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

Education:

• Bachelor's/Master s degree in Operations Research , Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
