Job Title: Backend Software Engineer (Python)
Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote)
Duration: 6 Months to start with good potential for extension
Primary Skills: Python, C, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Docker.
Job Description:
- Client is looking to bring on four (4) contract Backend Software Engineers to support an urgent project set to kick off in July!
- Looking for senior level folks in the U.S. with strong Python and C experience, Docker and AWS experience, and a very high standard for quality and detail!
- This project focuses on the integration between Client's services and their partner's data including DMV's, courthouses, etc.
- The current background check solution features several public APIs, both public and internal portals, and a range of microservices.
- This is all integration backend focused work.
- Candidate will be working on will be primarily new builds, building new services, and integration work.
- 80% of work will be in Python, 20% of work will be legacy services in C language.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other engineers and product managers to understand all project requirements.
- Work on the integration of new background check solutions and data into.
- This includes working on customer and data vendor integrations and developing the system into a long-term identity verification platform.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Provide regular updates to teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience working in Health-Tech or Fintech is a plus
- Expertise with Python and C languages
- Experience with AWS and Docker
- Understanding of microservice architecture infrastructure, familiarity with Kubernetes
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
- Experience with CI/CD
- Experience working with data stores (Postgres, MongoDB)
- Experience with Git, GitLab or Github and PR/MR review process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
