Job Summary:

Caribou Financial, Inc. is focused on providing financial freedom to customers by streamlining the auto loan refinancing process. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to collaborate with product and design teams, drive iterative development, and mentor teammates while working on their Ruby on Rails monolith and other technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with product and design to define requirements.

• Drive iterative development and lead refactoring efforts to reduce technical debt.

• Mentor teammates to build collective knowledge and capabilities.

• Build borrower refi application UX and API for partner integrations.

• Work closely with product and design to deliver solutions that streamline back-office processes and develop new lending-specific products for partners.

• Work with other engineers and leadership to improve code, striving for flexibility and agility.

• Mentor and coach engineers on the team to expand their skillsets through peer programming and coaching.

• Aid in work breakdown and agile trade offs in scrum process, efficiently delivering great software.

• Partner with Product Owners to understand market and business context for products and participate in collaborative product design and evolution.

• Play a role in defining and evolving how Engineering works at Caribou.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Prior work maintaining and improving consumer applications and partner integration APIs

• Prior work maintaining and improving third party integrations

• Enjoys collaborating with Product, Design, and Data teams to turn ideas into real features that drive revenue and satisfy end users needs

• Detail oriented engineers, with an understanding of, and a passion for, creating well-crafted software

• Driven, life-long learners committed to expanding their skills in engineering

• Full-stack understanding of production software systems from Docker to DOM, to containers and caches, to databases and DNS, to runtimes and REST

• A commitment to bringing out the best in those around them as a measure of their success

• Seasoned engineers with experience deploying and operating their products in production, troubleshooting and resolving production incidents

• Thrives in a remote-first environment, self-motivated, with an appreciation for collaboration and growth opportunities within a diverse team
