Job Summary:
Goodwin is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help us on our journey to build the world’s premier charter technology solutions. The role involves designing RESTful APIs, maintaining AWS infrastructure, and mentoring junior developers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a senior backend engineer, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.
• Design RESTful APIs for our Private Jet Charter Broker/Operator solutions
• Be our subject matter expert in maintaining and scaling AWS infrastructure
• Design and implement database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Develop, test, and maintain server-side applications using programming languages such as Node.js.
• Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and allow for regression testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and architecture of backend systems.
• Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Mentor and coach junior back-end developers as needed.
• Ability to provide production support during critical time periods which may fall outside normal business hours.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proven experience (~7-10 years) as a Backend Software Engineer or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or bootcamp equivalent.
• Must have experience in writing highly secure web applications and with core AWS web-enabling technologies.
• Experience in designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL schema design, SQL query optimize, Prisma.
• Experience with AWS and DevOps tools.
• Proficiency in Express, Node.js.
• Exposure to distributed system cache, event based systems, kafka, zookeeper, pub/sub and third party system integrations.
