In this role, you will lead the technical vision and execution of an enterprise-scale integrations platform, ensuring robust and scalable connectivity across APIs, webhooks, and third-party services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain integration solutions that connect systems internally and externally. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering leadership, mentoring, and driving architectural decisions while solving complex technical challenges. Accountabilities
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for the integrations platform to support product growth and business complexity
- Lead the design and implementation of core integration components, including public/private APIs, webhooks, system connectivity, and automation workflows
- Serve as a hands-on technical expert, providing guidance on software design, architecture, and best practices
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming, incident analysis, and informal training
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to leverage cloud services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions
- Integrate with third-party platforms like Salesforce, Workato, and Zapier to expand platform capabilities
- Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering quality and efficiency
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and maintainability while advocating for best practices in performance monitoring and system observability
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong focus on backend systems and integrations
- Proven expertise in designing and building scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency with Node.js, Python, or Java
- Strong experience with cloud services (AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS) for data and integration workflows
- Solid knowledge of integration platforms, webhooks, GraphQL, and API design principles
- Experience analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving performance and scalability challenges using monitoring tools like NewRelic or BugSnag
- Strong mentoring and leadership skills with a desire to elevate team capabilities
- Preferred: experience with Salesforce integrations (NPC, NPSP, Experience Cloud), CRM platforms, PHP Laravel, and AI-assisted development tools
- Excellent communication skills and a product-minded, pragmatic approach to technical decision-making
