This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer in Europe.
As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a high-performing, reliable, and secure platform for a fast-growing SaaS organization. You will collaborate across multiple engineering teams, bridging gaps between DevOps and broader engineering practices, and drive strategic initiatives that improve platform stability, scalability, and developer productivity. This position offers an opportunity to lead architectural decisions, champion modern DevOps practices, and influence the platform strategy while mentoring and guiding other engineers. You will have a direct impact on critical infrastructure and the overall delivery lifecycle, ensuring teams can iterate quickly and safely in a cloud-native environment.
Accountabilities
Define and drive technical strategy for infrastructure, security, and adoption of modern DevOps methodologies (Containerization, Configuration Management, CI/CD, IaC, Monitoring).
Lead architectural design and evolution of Kubernetes platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, and usability by development teams.
Act as a thought leader for reliability, guiding architectural decisions, establishing SLOs, actionable alerts, and robust runbooks.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and streamline software delivery processes.
Promote an automation-first mindset, eliminating toil across systems.
Lead resolution of critical platform issues and drive continuous improvement in incident management processes.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from conception to completion.
Expert-level AWS skills, including designing, building, and operating scalable infrastructure; GCP knowledge is a plus.
Extensive experience with Terraform/OpenTofu for infrastructure as code and maintaining modular codebases.
Advanced Linux administration, networking, Bash scripting, and security best practices at an architectural level.
Professional experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
Deep understanding of observability stacks and experience implementing SRE principles (SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, reliability).
Strong programming proficiency to develop tooling, debug production code, and support platform-wide initiatives.
