The Sr. Data Engineer will play a critical role in building and maintaining large-scale data systems that drive actionable insights across the organization. Working on a globally distributed cloud platform, this role involves designing scalable data pipelines, managing structured and unstructured data, and delivering reliable analytics solutions. The position requires collaboration with product, analytics, software development, and business teams to ensure high-quality data infrastructure and solutions. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, large-scale data systems and pipelines for analytics and business intelligence initiatives
- Build sustainable and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch and stream processing
- Collaborate with product, analytics, software, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing data solutions
- Ensure data systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Implement best practices for data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakehouses
- Work with cloud technologies and tools to support data orchestration, transformation, and storage
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data infrastructure for reliability and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role
- Strong experience designing scalable data architectures, including building data pipelines for batch and stream processing
- Hands-on expertise with AWS big data technologies (Glue, Kinesis, Lambda) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, dbt)
- Advanced SQL skills (Postgres, Snowflake) and intermediate to advanced Python programming abilities
- Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle principles and best practices
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; capable of distilling complex data challenges into actionable insights
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of encryption, anonymization, and tokenization techniques
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies
- Previous experience in a SaaS or technology-driven company
