Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scientific software used in computational chemistry and materials discovery
• Collaborate with chemists, physicists, and AI researchers to translate prototype tools into reliable, efficient code
• Implement robust software practices, including testing, documentation, and cloud-based integration
• Enhance and scale AI agent systems for autonomous research workflows
• Provide technical guidance and support across multidisciplinary teams
• Manage dependencies, CI/CD pipelines, and compatibility across various cloud environments
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive engineering culture focused on curiosity and collaboration

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in non-academic environments
• Proficiency in Python, including experience with numerical and scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, PyTorch)
• Skilled with development tools like Git, Linux/Unix, containerization, and cloud-based platforms
• Experience building scalable, maintainable software systems in scientific or technical domains
• Strong communication and documentation skills in a cross-functional setting
• Ability to define and execute technical roadmaps independently in a fast-paced environment
