This role is perfect for a highly motivated software engineer with deep expertise in networking and distributed systems. You will work on the development and optimization of core networking features, contributing to both client-side and backend services. As part of a collaborative and fully remote team, you'll take ownership of the product lifecycle—from ideation to implementation—ensuring robust, scalable, and secure networking capabilities. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, a security-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in an autonomous and dynamic environment while working closely with product and design teams.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

Design, build, test, and document core networking software components
Develop and optimize features for control plane, relay infrastructure, and networking protocols
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex networking issues across different environments
Ensure operational reliability by participating in incident response, observability, and supporting customer escalations
Analyze system efficiency, scalability, and stability, implementing improvements where needed
Apply a security-first mindset in both design and implementation of networking components
Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to enhance networking capabilities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Significant experience in networking software and troubleshooting networking issues
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, routing, NAT traversal, and VPN technologies
Experience with distributed systems
Experience with SQL databases
Proficiency in Go is a plus
Ability to work independently, provide constructive feedback, and adapt to a dynamic, fast-moving environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred / Standout Qualifications:

Experience contributing to open-source networking projects
Familiarity with network security principles and best practices
Prior work in fully remote or early-stage startup environments
