We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer - Java to join a collaborative, agile development team responsible for building and maintaining web applications, supporting tools, and special projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality code while participating in design and code reviews, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to architectural and design decisions. Accountabilities

Design, build, and maintain user interface and server-side components using approved frameworks
Participate in design and code reviews, providing suggestions for improvements and troubleshooting issues
Collaborate with team members at architecture, design, and code levels to ensure high-performance, standards-based systems
Follow quality programs, coding standards, and procedures to maintain software excellence
Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards across all areas of responsibility
Contribute to internal communities of practice for continuous learning and knowledge sharing

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; professional certifications or equivalent experience a plus
5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer with a strong development background
Proficiency in Java Platform (SE & EE), XML, RESTful APIs, ORM frameworks, MVC frameworks, and client-side scripting
Experience with test-driven development and testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber
Knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and microservice frameworks
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application defects in mature production systems
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Familiarity with Java messaging systems is a plus
