Software Engineer - Java

• Accountabilities:
• Develop user interface and server-side components using approved frameworks, producing high-quality, maintainable code.
• Participate in design and code reviews, suggesting improvements and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with team members on architecture, design, and code-level tasks to ensure standards-based, high-performance systems.
• Engage in internal communities of practice to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Maintain adherence to quality, safety, security, and privacy standards in all responsibilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects in production environments.
• Implement test-driven development practices and participate in automated testing initiatives.
• Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong development background.
• Proficiency with Java SE & EE and experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber.
• Familiarity with XML, RESTful APIs, ORM frameworks, MVC frameworks, and client-side scripting.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and relational databases, including stored procedures.
• Experience with Java messaging is a plus.
• Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and feature-driven development.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to new technologies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
