This role sits at the core of high-performance AI computing, where compiler technology directly enables the efficiency of modern deep learning workloads on advanced GPU architectures. You will contribute to building and optimizing the compiler infrastructure that transforms high-level machine learning representations into highly efficient GPU kernels. The work spans multiple layers of the compilation stack, from frontend integration to low-level code generation and optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional experts in hardware, frameworks, and libraries to push the boundaries of performance and scalability. This is a highly technical and impactful role where decisions directly influence AI training and inference efficiency at scale. You will operate in a fast-evolving environment that values deep systems thinking, performance excellence, and architectural rigor.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing compiler infrastructure that enables efficient GPU execution of deep learning workloads across complex systems.

Design and implement compiler passes, IR structures, and lowering pipelines for GPU kernel generation
Develop MLIR-based transformations connecting frontend ML representations to backend code generation systems
Contribute to and evolve backend compilation infrastructure, including tile-based IR and optimization frameworks
Optimize performance across the full code generation pipeline for compute- and memory-intensive workloads
Analyze and improve GPU kernel performance against competitive baselines through profiling and tuning
Define compiler architecture and integration strategies across frontend frameworks and backend GPU systems
Drive technical direction by scoping multi-quarter initiatives and defining scalable abstractions
Collaborate with hardware architects, framework teams, and external partners to ensure system alignment

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong compiler engineering expertise, deep systems knowledge, and experience working on performance-critical software for modern compute architectures.

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in compiler engineering, focusing on code generation, IR design, or optimization
Strong proficiency in C/C++ with experience in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning
Ability to independently drive complex projects with ambiguity and evolving requirements
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Hands-on experience with MLIR, including dialect design, passes, and compilation pipelines (preferred)
Proven track record of delivering end-to-end compiler infrastructure or systems projects (preferred)
Experience with GPU or accelerator architectures and execution models (preferred)
Contributions to open-source compiler projects such as LLVM, MLIR, XLA, or TVM (preferred)
Experience mentoring engineers and improving team-level technical standards (preferred)
