As a Senior Software Engineer - Data Products, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the backend services and data pipelines that power enterprise-grade internal productivity platforms. You will work on data integration, transformation, and operationalization, ensuring reliable and actionable insights across multiple internal systems. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global product, UX, and data science teams while driving innovation in how data is collected, processed, and surfaced. You will help shape the architecture of modern data platforms, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a high-impact, cross-functional engineering culture.
Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain ETL/data pipelines to synchronize data from enterprise systems, internal databases, and developer platforms
- Build and deploy microservices (REST/gRPC) and backend services that make data accessible to applications and dashboards
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across multiple sources while implementing governance and lineage practices
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end features and actionable data products
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, including data modeling, storage strategies, and distributed system patterns
- Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and continuously improve engineering workflows and operational excellence
- Propose and implement innovations in data integration, storage, and product design to enhance scalability and usability
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend and data engineering
- Experience designing and building ETL/data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (schema design, query optimization, data modeling) and familiarity with modern storage models (Lakehouse, Delta, Iceberg)
- Hands-on experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Pulsar) and distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
- Experience building and deploying microservices (REST/gRPC) in distributed environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and best practices for deployment, scaling, and reliability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and operational excellence
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, especially in global teams
- Product-oriented mindset: able to work closely with UX/Product to make data insights intuitive and actionable
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with modern data storage architectures and analytics frameworks
- Familiarity with hybrid work models and collaboration across multiple time zones
- Leadership experience in mentoring or guiding engineering teams
