This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Zus Health. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform in United States.

This role provides the opportunity to shape and scale a high-performance data platform that handles healthcare records at massive scale. As a Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform, you will be responsible for building and operating critical data services, collaborating across engineering and product teams, and contributing to the architecture and design of the platform. You will work on mission-critical projects with direct impact on customers, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in data storage, streaming, and analytics. The ideal candidate thrives on open-ended technical challenges, embraces innovation, and is motivated to build operationally stable, scalable, and secure data services in a fast-growing, evolving startup environment.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build, and operate data services powering applications and APIs
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to prototype and develop new functionality
  • Contribute technical leadership and influence the architecture and design of the team's systems
  • Mentor and coach other engineers to help them grow and improve
  • Partner with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of high-value features
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and operational stability across services

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on data platform development
  • Experience building operationally stable, cost-efficient data services
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Go or Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), deployment pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, streaming data pipelines, and large-scale data processing technologies
  • Familiarity with healthcare data, APIs, and standards such as FHIR or TEFCA is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to learn quickly in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
