This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Ruby-on-Rails Engineer in France.
In this role, you will contribute to building and scaling a rapidly growing web platform, helping define the technical roadmap and delivering high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, working on challenging back-end features while also having opportunities to experiment and innovate. This position provides full remote flexibility, a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and the chance to shape user experiences for millions of active users. You will apply your Ruby-on-Rails expertise to solve complex problems, optimize performance, and ensure reliable, maintainable code. Strong collaboration, ownership, and user-centricity will be key to your success.
Accountabilities
Collaborate with product managers to review project specifications and define technical approaches.
Prepare integration plans, breakdowns, and time estimations for features and projects.
Implement back-end functionality, perform code reviews, handle pull requests, and ensure testing quality.
Support full software lifecycle from design to deployment while maintaining scalable and maintainable code.
Contribute to architectural decisions and propose technical improvements.
Work closely with distributed teams including web developers, data scientists, and SREs.
Ensure user-centric design and performance for large-scale platforms.
Participate in experiments and innovation initiatives to improve product offerings.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack software engineer, with recent experience in Ruby-on-Rails mandatory.
Experience in fast-paced, agile tech environments, ideally in scale-ups or high-growth companies.
Experience working on products with thousands of active users.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and commitment to quality.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; fluent in English.
User-focused mindset with an appreciation for delivering exceptional experiences.
Comfort working on products with uncensored content is required.
Bonus: experience in data science, AI/ML/NLP, or working with globally distributed teams.
