This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer in the United States.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and scale cloud infrastructure and developer experience in a fast-growing, high-impact environment. You will join a centralized Platform team responsible for building, adopting, and maintaining cloud-native tooling and infrastructure across multiple environments. The position combines hands-on engineering with strategic implementation, focusing on infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, and developer tooling. You will help optimize engineering velocity, maintain robust security and compliance standards, and drive innovation at scale while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is a role for engineers who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy taking projects from 0 to 1.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure, including networking, IAM, Kubernetes, databases, streaming platforms, storage, and distribution.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, release management tooling, and branching strategies to support a rapidly growing engineering team.
- Drive cloud security practices, including deployment scans, least-privileged access controls, auditing, and compliance with SoC2 and HIPAA.
- Build and optimize application testing pipelines, including end-to-end UI and load testing, to ensure high-quality releases.
- Improve observability, incident response processes, and runbooks to enhance operational resilience.
- Bridge development and production environments to maximize engineering efficiency while minimizing configuration and environment drift issues.
- Evangelize and document platform solutions, training engineering teams on cloud-native tools and best practices.
- Represent the organization in the broader platform engineering community through conferences, open source contributions, and research initiatives.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code environments.
- Experience building and scaling Kubernetes clusters, with knowledge of related cloud-native technologies (e.g., ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Istio).
- Proficiency managing Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, service mesh, and Helm chart maintenance.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application deployments (Terragrunt, Atlas, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, Travis CI, etc.).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools at scale (e.g., Grafana, Datadog, Honeycomb).
- Expertise implementing and securing services in Google Cloud Platform, including VPCs, GKE, IAM roles, and policies.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, GoLang, Node.js, or Rust.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills, adaptability, and eagerness to learn and implement new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule and travel up to 10% as needed.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and equity packages.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Generous HSA contributions for High Deductible Health Plan participants.
- Paid parental leave and family-forming support.
- 401(k) plan with company match.
- Flexible PTO and holiday schedule, including sabbatical leave for eligible employees.
- Personal device allowance and lifestyle wallet for professional development, fitness, and coworking.
- Mental health support with therapy and coaching resources.
- Opportunities for remote work, team retreats, and professional growth.
- Inclusive, supportive, and collaborative company culture.
