Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Remote - US)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a pioneering team developing next-generation wearable technology. In this role, you will design and implement low-level software for custom embedded systems, contributing directly to the creation of ultra-low-power communication, sensing, and computation solutions. You will collaborate with hardware engineers, IC designers, and computer vision experts to build firmware that powers complex wearable devices. Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for wearable devices, from bootloaders to device drivers and operating systems
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of embedded systems
• Optimize firmware for ultra-low-power operation across ARM MCUs and custom hardware platforms
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, BLE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB
• Conduct low-level debugging and testing, leveraging tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
• Participate in the design and setup of custom toolchains and build environments for embedded projects

Requirements

• BS in Electronics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development for innovative IoT or wearable products
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with MCU firmware development and power optimization techniques
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces and low-level debugging
• Strong hardware/electrical knowledge and ability to test firmware with real-world measurements
• Experience with PCB design, embedded project hobbies, and toolchain setup is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments
