This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Developer, SysOps Specialist in the United States.
As a Senior Developer, SysOps Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications while ensuring robust infrastructure performance, scalability, and security. You will work across the full stack with PHP, Symfony, and related technologies, while managing Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, and Redis systems. This role combines hands-on software engineering with operational excellence, enabling reliable, high-performing applications for users. You will collaborate closely with fellow developers to implement features, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, remote-friendly environment, values continuous learning, and takes ownership of both application development and infrastructure reliability.
Accountabilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP, Symfony, and other web technologies.
Develop new functionality, maintain existing features, and ensure applications perform reliably.
Collaborate with team members to explain components, troubleshoot issues, and implement bug fixes.
Manage backend services and ensure smooth data interchange across systems.
Configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Set up and maintain Kubernetes clusters, implementing auto-scaling and load balancing to support application demands.
Administer Redis for caching and data storage, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics, and maintain system security including access control and vulnerability assessments.
Participate in on-call rotation to respond to critical issues and support operational continuity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience with PHP 5.4+ and frameworks such as Symfony.
Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, Docker, Nginx, Twig, MongoDB, Git, PHPUnit, Linux, and jQuery.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, and test-driven development methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.
Proficiency in Redis database management for caching and data storage.
Familiarity with networking concepts, including IP addressing, routing, and firewall configuration.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and provide guidance to colleagues.
