This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Solutions Engineer – Remote in Latin America.
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of large-scale data solutions that enable operational insights and advanced analytics across the mining industry. You will work hands-on with cloud platforms, data engineering tools, and AI/ML frameworks to build scalable data pipelines, analytics workflows, and data products. Collaborating with data scientists, solution architects, and business stakeholders, you will translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions. This position blends strategic thinking with technical execution, providing opportunities to drive impactful decision-making while mentoring peers. You will also contribute to MLOps and DataOps practices, ensuring reliable deployment cycles and high-quality data products. The role is fully remote, with engagement across Latin America and global teams.
Accountabilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms such as Azure and Databricks.
Model structured and unstructured sensor and operational data for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
Implement descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics workflows, including AI/ML components.
Build and maintain data lineage, metadata, and documentation for pipelines and data products.
Create impactful dashboards and analytical products for stakeholders, providing actionable insights.
Collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, and business analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Mentor team members and foster knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
Apply AI/ML techniques, including LLMs, OpenAI APIs, vision, and translation models, to solve complex business problems.
Requirements
6+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data modeling, or advanced analytics.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure, and modern data architectures.
Strong proficiency in Databricks, Airflow, Python, SQL, and Spark.
Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts and methodologies (e.g., star/snowflake schema).
Experience implementing ML/AI components within data platforms.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices such as CI/CD and clean code principles.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English and Spanish (C1 or higher).
Nice-to-have: experience with industrial/mining datasets, Kafka/Kinesis, streaming architectures, Neo4j/CosmosDB/NoSQL, and AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI or Cognitive Services.
