This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer - Agentic AI Platform in Germany.
In this role, you will design and implement modern lakehouse platforms on Azure, enabling self-service access to high-quality data for AI-driven initiatives. You will combine cloud services and best practices to build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient end-to-end data solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will define architecture standards, enforce governance, and optimize data operations for performance and reliability. You will mentor junior engineers, guide architectural decisions, and influence technical strategy across projects. This role offers an opportunity to drive innovation while ensuring compliance and operational excellence in a fast-growing environment. Your work will directly impact the ability of teams to leverage data for predictive insights and business transformation.
Accountabilities:
• Design and implement lakehouse architectures using Azure Fabric/OneLake, Synapse, Delta Lake, and mirroring for zero-ETL data integration.
• Implement centralized data management and fine-grained access control through Unity Catalog, integrated with Purview.
• Build and maintain DataOps frameworks using Delta Live Tables, serverless SQL pools, and automated monitoring tools for performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop and enforce security and compliance concepts, including VNet, Private Link, Key Vault, and Active Directory integration.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, perform code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Advise stakeholders on data strategy, technology selection, and potential business impact.
• Drive innovation by testing new tools, frameworks, and proof-of-concept solutions.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Azure data platforms (Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse/Fabric) and project management.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cost optimization strategies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to explain complex concepts to technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in German and proficient in English.
• Demonstrated ability to shape technical strategies, enforce governance, and drive innovation in team environments.
