Senior AI Software Engineer (Remote - US)

We are seeking a forward-thinking Senior AI Software Engineer to drive innovation in developer experience and tooling. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain AI-augmented developer tools that accelerate software development workflows, improve team productivity, and enhance code quality. You will collaborate across engineering teams to identify pain points, prototype intelligent solutions, and integrate AI capabilities into internal platforms. Accountabilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain AI-powered developer tools, services, and workflows
• Integrate AI capabilities into internal tooling, including code review assistants, test generation, and automated documentation
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and developers to identify, prioritize, and resolve developer workflow challenges
• Build tooling that integrates into CI/CD pipelines, IDEs, and development environments
• Stay current with AI advancements and platform engineering technologies to continuously improve developer experience
• Advocate for developer productivity and contribute to the overall Developer Experience strategy

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years focused on Developer Experience or developer tooling
• Strong understanding of software development workflows, CI/CD, source control (Git), testing, and automation
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into engineering processes (e.g., LLMs like OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models)
• Proficiency in backend development (Python, Go, Node.js) and scripting languages
• Experience building plugins or extensions for developer tools (e.g., VS Code, GitHub Apps, CLI tools)
• Excellent communication skills with empathy for developer pain points
• Ability to turn insights into actionable solutions quickly and iteratively

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with AI platforms (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain)
• Background in platform engineering, productivity engineering, or DevOps
• Contributions to open-source developer tools
• Familiarity with observability and performance tooling
• Experience in machine learning, natural language processing, or prompt engineering
