Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver advanced marketing automation solutions using Salesforce Marketing Cloud in a fully remote environment.

You will contribute to customer engagement initiatives by building scalable email and SMS journeys, personalized experiences, and data-driven campaigns.

The position combines technical expertise, marketing technology knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration to translate business needs into effective solutions.

You will work closely with product and technology teams to optimize campaign performance, improve customer experiences, and support strategic growth initiatives.

Accountabilities

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing marketing automation solutions while ensuring technical quality, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with marketing, product, and technology teams to deliver impactful customer engagement programs.

• Develop and implement SMS and email automation solutions using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Design, build, and optimize complex customer journeys and marketing campaigns focused on engagement and retention.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with product and technology stakeholders.
• Configure and maintain data models, including data extensions, shared data extensions, and Contact Builder structures.
• Build automated processes using Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools such as Automation Studio and Journey Builder.
• Create dynamic and personalized marketing assets using scripting languages and personalization techniques.
• Develop and maintain marketing experiences, including forms, preference centers, and customer-facing data interactions.
• Ensure marketing solutions comply with applicable privacy and communication regulations, including CASL and CAN-SPAM.
• Support testing, optimization initiatives, product releases, integrations, and technical troubleshooting.
• Monitor campaign performance, analyze results against business goals, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate across departments to maintain effective marketing technology processes and best practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud professional with strong technical development skills, marketing automation expertise, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business teams.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud development.
• Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification required; Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant Certification is considered an asset.
• Strong experience configuring Salesforce Marketing Cloud data models, including data extensions, shared data extensions, and Contact Model.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and join statements.
• Proficiency with AMPscript, HTML, CSS, and SSJS; experience with WXProxy is an asset.
• Experience creating automated customer journeys and workflows using Automation Studio and Journey Builder.
• Experience developing personalized marketing assets and managing subscription preferences.
• Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs and experience troubleshooting integrations.
• Understanding of email deliverability, ISP domain health management, and marketing compliance practices.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect and data exchange between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce platforms.
• Strong Salesforce Sales Cloud experience; Salesforce CDP experience is considered an asset.
• Experience working within Salesforce support environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Comfortable working with multiple marketing technology platforms and highly technical stakeholders.
