In this role, you will lead the detailed engineering and optimization phase of utility-scale solar projects, ensuring accurate, high-quality designs from development through construction. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to deliver precise engineering packages on schedule. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge solar tracker technology, combining technical problem-solving, project management, and collaboration across multiple disciplines. You will influence the design, construction, and performance of solar installations while improving workflows and contributing to product development initiatives. Accountabilities:
Lead customer communications during engineering and design phases, ensuring alignment on project requirements and milestones.
Gather, review, and coordinate technical details from clients and third parties to produce final engineering deliverables.
Prepare and review construction drawings, CAD blocks, permit sets, and project layouts.
Generate bills of materials and develop cost-effective engineering solutions.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including civil, structural, controls, and drafting, to maintain project timelines and budgets.
Support project management and construction teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
Identify risks early and resolve issues collaboratively, maintaining organized and accurate project documentation.
Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce precise project drawings and support continuous workflow improvements and automation initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, ideally in utility-scale solar tracker projects or renewable energy systems.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, with expertise in solar tracker design and topography/hydrology analysis.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Experience in value engineering, project management, and risk mitigation for complex engineering projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills to clearly convey technical information across teams and stakeholders.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing time and multiple priorities effectively.
