This role offers the opportunity to lead design initiatives that shape the future of a complex SaaS platform, delivering exceptional user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile interfaces. The Principal Product Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to drive product strategy and execute high-impact design solutions. You will guide projects from conception through delivery, balancing user needs, business goals, and innovative design. Accountabilities
As a Principal Product Designer, you will:
- Lead design-driven projects that address complex business and user challenges, proactively proposing solutions
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to create intuitive, visually compelling interfaces
- Conduct user research and leverage insights to inform product decisions and validate design concepts
- Innovate and establish reusable design systems, patterns, and methodologies that elevate product quality
- Mentor and guide other designers, fostering skill development and a user-centered design culture
- Contribute to design strategy, working closely with leadership to influence product direction and organizational initiatives
- Champion user needs throughout the organization and ensure consistency and quality across all product touchpoints
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Extensive experience designing modern SaaS or enterprise platforms, with a strong portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, including experience in strategy, research, information architecture, and user experience design
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and lead complex design projects independently
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to explain design rationale to both teams and executives
- Experience with design thinking methodologies and leading teams toward customer-centered outcomes
- Passion for mentoring designers and promoting a culture of empathy and craftsmanship
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize strategically, and make data-informed design decisions
