This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Software Security Engineer, Trust and Safety in APAC and EMEA.

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join a global Trust and Safety team, focused on protecting users and platforms from abuse, spam, and malicious activity. In this role, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and security, building tools and systems that proactively detect and mitigate threats. You will collaborate with security and product teams to design automated solutions, improve abuse prevention platforms, and strengthen operational security practices. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers passionate about security, eager to grow into security-focused roles, and motivated by solving complex, real-world problems. You will have the chance to make an immediate impact while developing expertise in trust, safety, and platform security.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain, enhance, and scale abuse prevention systems to detect spam, cryptomining, and other violations
  • Develop and expand capabilities within in-house abuse detection platforms
  • Improve AI-driven detection and mitigation tools to reduce manual intervention
  • Collaborate with peers across Security Operations to deliver platform safety improvements
  • Automate processes and create clear documentation, runbooks, and procedures
  • Proactively identify abuse trends and propose preventive measures

Requirements

  • Strong software development skills, particularly with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience working on distributed applications with large-scale codebases
  • Curiosity and motivation to grow into a security engineering role
  • Familiarity with cloud-native platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, results-driven environment
  • Interest in defending systems against attacks with an "automation first" mindset
  • Passion for understanding abuse patterns, trust and safety challenges, and platform security incidents
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams
