This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Gameplay Engineer in the United States.

We are seeking a Gameplay Engineer to contribute to the design and development of innovative gameplay experiences for an early-stage project. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of major gameplay systems, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Animation, and Audio, and influence key design decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in flexible, creative environments, has a strong technical foundation in C++ and Unreal Engine, and enjoys building systems that deliver engaging player experiences. You will play a critical role in shaping the project, with autonomy to experiment, iterate, and solve complex gameplay challenges.

  • Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and debug gameplay systems and mechanics using C++ and scripting languages.
  • Implement, optimize, and test gameplay software on PC platforms.
  • Collaborate with Art, Design, Audio, QA, and other internal teams to ensure cohesive gameplay experiences.
  • Document software features and gameplay systems for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Requirements:
  • Professional experience developing and shipping AAA game titles.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Solid problem-solving, analytical, and math skills to architect gameplay mechanics and tools.
  • Passion for games, with the ability to critically evaluate design strengths and weaknesses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to an early-stage project and contribute to design decisions.
