This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer in the United States.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and validating electronic systems for power solutions, batteries, and chargers. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture and schematic design to firmware development, testing, and production support. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to both hardware and software integration while ensuring compliance with performance standards and manufacturing requirements. This role offers the opportunity to influence product quality, support innovation in energy and power technologies, and engage with internal and external stakeholders globally. You will have the chance to mentor peers, solve complex technical challenges, and help bring advanced electronic products to market efficiently.
Accountabilities
Design and develop electronics for power systems, battery packs, and chargers within a new product development environment.
Capture requirements, create schematics, perform board layout, and define firmware and electronic specifications.
Develop and test custom firmware for embedded microcontrollers.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to define requirements, identify risks, and support system-level design.
Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and product analyses to ensure design integrity.
Conduct product characterization and verification through comprehensive testing.
Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities, production transitions, and manufacturing support.
Guide and review the work of remote engineering resources and mentor junior engineers.
Support product compliance with EMI/EMC, UL, UN, CE, IEC, and military standards.
Travel domestically and internationally (<10%) as required for project support.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in design engineering, including hardware and firmware development.
Hands-on experience with ECAD tools for schematic capture and board layout, preferably Altium.
Knowledge of low-power microcontroller firmware development and testing.
Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN Bus, SMBus, I2C, HDQ, DQ, RS232/485.
Understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and relevant commercial/military standards.
Experience in manufacturing transition, process implementation, and product failure analysis.
Knowledge of ISO requirements related to product design, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative, global team environments.
