We are currently looking for a Distributed Database Software Engineer in India.

In this role, you will work within a high-caliber engineering team focused on advancing the capabilities of distributed databases at scale. You will design and optimize key components that power mission-critical applications used globally, tackling challenges across replication, sharding, concurrency, and performance optimization. This position offers the opportunity to shape next-generation data infrastructure, collaborate with experts across different regions, and contribute to open-source technologies. You will work deeply with systems-level concepts, performance tuning, and modern tooling while influencing engineering standards and architectural direction. • Accountabilities:
• Build, test, and optimize distributed database components designed for massive scale.
• Strengthen performance and reliability across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Work on replication, sharding, consistency models, and database internals such as Raft, MVCC, and ACID.
• Profile, debug, and tune system performance using tools like perf, htop, and iostat.
• Maintain clean, reviewable code with Git while contributing to infrastructure using CMake or Bazel.
• Configure and monitor systems using YAML/JSONnet, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Dive into Linux/Unix internals including systemd, cgroups, logging, and core-dump analysis.
• Automate testing and performance validation through load-testing scripts and related tools.
• Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional experience with C++.
• Strong SQL expertise (MariaDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL) and passion for distributed systems concepts like Raft, MVCC, and ACID.
• Proven background in concurrency, multithreading, and distributed architecture.
• Comfortable with Linux/Unix internals and debugging utilities.
• Hands-on experience with profiling tools such as perf, htop, and iostat.
• Familiarity with YAML/JSONnet for configuration and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Bonus: open-source contributions, automation experience, or load/performance testing background.
• Fully remote role based in India.
