We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Senior Software Engineer to help design, develop, and optimize large-scale distributed systems. In this role, you will work on backend services, APIs, and microservices that power high-performance applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions, influencing technical architecture, and mentoring junior engineers. Accountabilities:

As a Backend Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and optimization of backend systems, while collaborating across teams. Key responsibilities include:

Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices and backend architectures
Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
Investigate and resolve software issues, optimize system performance, and enhance user experience
Contribute to architecture and design discussions to influence technical strategy
Advocate for new technologies and development practices that improve productivity and scalability
Actively participate in team discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with experience in distributed systems and cloud environments. Required qualifications include:

6+ years of experience in software engineering with expertise in Java and Spring Boot
Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with microservice architectures
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and familiarity with containers and cloud-native development
Strong knowledge of data structures, software design, relational and NoSQL databases, performance tuning, and caching strategies
Experience with distributed systems, scalable architectures, and high-performance backend solutions
Proven leadership abilities and readiness to step into a team lead role within 6 months
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code is advantageous
