This role is designed for an experienced Android developer who thrives in building high-performance, user-focused mobile applications. You will contribute to the architecture, design, and development of complex Android features, ensuring the app delivers a fast, reliable, and intuitive experience. Your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of end users and help scale the mobile platform for future growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering, to implement innovative solutions and maintain high development standards. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills, a passion for clean code, and the ability to influence and guide peers. This position offers an opportunity to own significant features and contribute to shaping mobile engineering practices in a remote-first environment.
Accountabilities
Architect, build, and maintain complex Android features using clean, efficient code.
Implement high-quality UIs that accurately reflect design specifications.
Integrate mobile applications with backend services to ensure seamless and performant user experiences.
Own critical components of the app, ensuring reliability, scalability, and high visibility impact.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ideate, plan, and deliver new features.
Participate in code reviews to maintain high development standards and foster team knowledge sharing.
Continuously improve application performance, monitoring, and observability.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in Android development with strong expertise in Kotlin.
Experience with Jetpack Compose and traditional XML layouts.
Familiarity with RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines for asynchronous programming.
Solid background in unit testing, debugging, and problem-solving.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred: advanced proficiency in RxJava/Coroutines, experience with monitoring tools like Datadog or Sentry, mobile performance profiling and optimization, AI or agentic coding familiarity.
Benefits
Competitive base salary dependent on location: $140,000–$187,000 USD.
