Mid / Senior UX/UI Designer (contractor)

The role

We’re hiring a Mid or Senior level UX/UI Designer to execute design across JH. This is a hands-on role that is part facilitator, part creator, with responsibility to deliver excellence in design discovery, UX definition, and UI creation for every ecommerce brand we support. You’ll sit across our delivery pods and strategy team, guiding the craft of experiences and enabling smarter design decisions, so that projects move with purpose and advance our client’s goals.

What you’ll do

• Participate in client consultation — from brief capture and brainstorming, to research playback and design validation.
• Partner with Strategy and Development teams to translate requirements and insights into clear, testable, viable design solutions.
• Provide high-quality deliverables across a range of client accounts and internal initiatives.
• Define user experience for ecommerce journeys
• Create high-fidelity UI designs that honour brand identity, accessibility needs, and usability principles to drive measurable results
• Represent design in client meetings — explaining the ‘why’, not just the ‘what’.
• Champion the value of design across teams to bridge creative intent with delivery reality.

What you’ll bring

• Experience leading design, in an agency setting
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design process — from research to polished interfaces — ideally including ecommerce projects.
• Expertise with tools such as Figma, Miro, Canva, Loom.
• Knowledge of design tactics to optimise web accessibility, usability, and conversion
• Familiarity with Adobe Commerce / Magento Open Source or similar ecommerce platforms.
• A collaborative mindset — you raise the standard around you and keep teams focused on outcomes, not outputs.
• Self-management of design work and the confidence to operate autonomously
• Bonus for experience in planning and conducting design audits, user research, and CRO experiments
