Our Client builds a data and analytics platform that gives e-commerce teams a unified view of performance through attribution modeling and dashboards. This is fundamentally a data product: the quality, reliability, and scalability of ingestion and transformation directly determine customer value.
They’re hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Data Systems (Python) to own critical parts of the data platform end-to-end—pipelines, integrations, architecture, and operational excellence—working closely with product and engineering stakeholders.
What you’ll work on
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Own integrations across APIs, file-based inputs, and configurable customer data sources.
- Work closely with product managers, product engineers, and customer-facing teams to turn customer needs into scalable data solutions.
- Lead technical design decisions and influence long-term data architecture and best practices.
- Optimize data pipelines for reliability, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
- Integrate data systems with machine learning and analytics workflows.
- Maintain and evolve the infrastructure required to scale the data platform.
- Write clear technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Your impact
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
- Drive architectural improvements across data and platform systems.
- Own data and infrastructure engineering efforts end-to-end, from concept to production.
- Ensure high data quality, observability, and operational reliability.
Required experience
- Strong understanding of real-time and batch data processing for transactional and analytical workloads.
- Proficiency with Python and SQL.
- Experience designing and operating high-performance systems with robust monitoring and logging.
- Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools and best practices.
- Experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Typically 8+ years of experience in data, backend, or platform engineering roles.
Bonus skills
- Experience with tools such as BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark, Pinot.
- Background in marketing tech, e-commerce, or ad-tech platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Exposure to or interest in infrastructure-as-code.
