Software Operations Engineer - Quality Assurance (.NET/Azure)

Job Description

We are seeking a Software Operations Engineer to ensure the health, performance, and reliability of enterprise applications built on Azure, .NET, and Angular. This role combines application support, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and light development, making it ideal for someone with solid .NET experience who enjoys improving and stabilizing systems rather than focusing solely on new features development. The position is flexible and may be remote or hybrid (remote most of the time), working closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and business teams.

As a cross‑functional operational engineering role, you will play a key part in maintaining production stability, supporting releases, and continuously improving monitoring, automation, and operational practices across Azure-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/Tier 3 issues across .NET applications, integrations, APIs, and Azure services.

• Perform root cause analysis on backend services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, web apps, and SQL databases.

• Monitor application health and performance using Azure Application Insights, Log Analytics, dashboards, and workbooks

• Execute functional, regression, and integration testing, and support UAT cycles for application updates.

• Validate Azure deployments, configurations, and environment health in partnership with DevOps/Infrastructure teams.

• Deliver small enhancements, bug fixes, refactoring, and API debugging within the .NET codebase.

• Support release management activities, including pre‑ and post‑release validation and documentation.

• Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring improvements, and operational efficiency using Azure services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• This role requires high proficiency in English (verbal and written) due to regular interaction with global stakeholders.
• Schedule aligned with UK business hours. This usually means working from around 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST, to match the 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM GMT workday in the UK.
• Mid‑level experience (approximately 3–5 years) with .NET and C# in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience supporting applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills across APIs, backend services, and SQL databases.
• Experience with Azure SQL / SQL Server and writing or analyzing T‑SQL queries.
• Familiarity with application monitoring and diagnostics using Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Azure Workbooks.
• Experience executing functional, regression, and integration testing, including support of UAT cycles.
• Ability to debug .NET applications using the IDE, logs, traces, and tools such as Postman or Fiddler.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with end‑to‑end test automation using Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with Azure API Management.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience performing small enhancements, bug fixes, or refactoring within an existing .NET codebase.
• Ability to write or maintain operational scripts using PowerShell, C#, or similar automation utilities.
• Interest in automation, monitoring improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives within Azure environments.
