A Day in the Life of the Senior Product Designer

In this strategic, hands-on role, you’ll own design across both participant-facing mobile apps and internal admin tools used by government staff. Your work will help streamline services, improve access to public resources, and create elegant, efficient digital experiences that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading design for both mobile-first (resident) and desktop-first (staff/admin) user flows
• Defining and evolving cohesive design systems across products
• Creating prototypes, gathering feedback, and iterating designs using data and insights
• Turning complex government workflows into simple, impactful experiences
• Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, marketers, and government stakeholders
• Extending product design language into branding, marketing, and outreach efforts
• Shipping high-impact, scalable designs with real-world outcomes
• Leveraging modern design tools and AI to move fast and iterate effectively

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 7–10 years of product design experience (across mobile (consumer-facing) and enterprise/admin (staff-facing) products)
• Prior experience with multi-product design systems
• Strong systems-thinking approach with a knack for reusable, scalable patterns
• Strong Figma skills and a deep understanding of layout, typography, and interaction
• Detail-oriented, with a high standard of execution and craft
• Clear communicator with the ability to articulate design decisions to diverse audiences
• Passionate about using design to promote access and equity
