Job Title: Software Engineer/Full-stack Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 6+ months, right to hire
Work Hours: Monday to Friday – 8am-5pm CST

Job Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining the software that makes life better for our coworkers and the Veterans we serve. Your work will focus on creating front-end and back-end solutions that support our mission—helping Veterans and Service Members achieve the dream of homeownership while driving business goals in the mortgage and real estate space. You'll also help drive the use of AI and automation to boost efficiency and enhance user experience.
Whether your background is in software engineering, web development, or a related technical field, you can thrive in this role. As an internet-based company, we're looking for someone with an AI first mindset, strong coding skills, and a solid grasp of software engineering principles. Specifically, we're looking for the following qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD build/release pipeline management tools
- Proficiency in Web APIs and microservice architecture
- Experience with C#, .NET, TypeScript, Angular, SQL Server, MongoDB, or related databases
- Experience with AI coding assistant such as Windsurf, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Cursor
- Preference for Agile product delivery
- Familiarity with GIT, Change Management, and application lifecycle management tools If you're comfortable managing application lifecycles, navigating these tools and technologies, and influencing others without formal authority, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Here's a snapshot of what you'd be doing:
- Building and delivering functional, reliable software using core technologies like .NET, C#, Angular, and TypeScript, all within an Agile development environment.
- Applying Domain-Driven Design, writing Clean Code, and embracing object-oriented programming to create solutions that work seamlessly.
- Collaborating with your team through planning sessions, retrospectives, and open communication.
- Working closely with Architects and Product Owners to turn requirements into smart, actionable business logic.
- Helping to shape and adopt Software Engineering standards, focusing on key areas like security, reliability, and stability. You'll ensure borrower data is handled with care and transparency throughout the life of a loan, keeping everything running smoothly.
