📍 Remote – India or Eastern Europe preferred

💼 Contract-to-hire | 💰 $22,000 USD/year

We’re an award-winning Irish digital agency working with non-profits, public bodies, and tourism brands. Our work is accessible, meaningful, and high-converting — and now we’re looking for a Head of Design who can lead our Figma-first, WordPress-focused design team.

This is not a role for generalists designers or project managers. We're only interested in hands-on designers with a proven background leading web design in an agency environment.

✅ Minimum 3 years leading a team in a web design agency

✅ Expert-level Figma skills — with a strong portfolio of WordPress website designs

✅ Full-time availability (no agencies, no side gigs)

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

Leading and mentoring a remote team of Figma-based web designers

Creating clean, consistent design systems and UI libraries

Ensuring all designs meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility and performance standards

Working closely with developers to ensure accurate build-out

Reviewing designs, improving workflows, and maintaining our internal design playbook

Occasionally joining client workshops (English-speaking)

Using Figma, Slack, Teams, Asana, and Time Doctor

✅ Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of web/digital design (must include client website work)

3+ years managing a design team in an agency

Fluent in Figma (components, libraries, auto layout, prototypes)

Strong knowledge of WordPress layout principles, dev handoff, and responsive UX

Familiar with HTML/CSS basics, web performance, and visual hierarchy

Confident communicator with fluent English

🔍 Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience applying WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards

Knowledge of accessibility tools like WAVE or AXE

Familiarity with Irish public sector design practices
