The Role

Reports to: Head of Innovation - Physical Access

Location: US (Preferably East Coast - Remote position)

We're seeking a highly motivated and versatile Physical Access Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge physical access products, which facilitate seamless and secure border crossings. You'll be involved in the full product lifecycle, from development and deployment to testing and customer interaction.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with hands-on experience in real-world environments. You'll work on complex technical challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the success of a globally impactful product.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Development and Maintenance: Develop, test, and maintain software components for iProov's physical access products, primarily using TypeScript.
• DevOps and Infrastructure: Participate in the development and implementation of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform (or a strong desire to learn).
• Cloud Platform Management: Experience with, or a strong desire to learn, cloud platform management, specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deployment and Testing: Deploy and configure software and hardware components in various environments, including on-site testing at airports and ports.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed systems, both remotely and on-site.
• Customer Interaction: Participate in customer visits and provide technical expertise to support product demonstrations and implementations.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of iProov's physical access products and become a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Networking (Desirable): Apply networking skills to troubleshoot and optimize system performance
• Project Involvement: Contribute to the broader project, including requirements gathering, documentation, and process improvement.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience or a strong desire to learn DevOps principles and practices.
• Experience or a strong desire to learn Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Experience or desire to learn Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel for on-site testing and customer visits.
• A desire to become a subject matter expert.

Preferred Skills (Desirable):

• Networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with biometric systems.
