Senior Product Manager – Japanese ElliQ AI Companion

We're now expanding into Japan—a society with one of the largest aging populations in the world—and we're looking for a talented, passionate Product Manager to localize, adapt and launch the very first version of ElliQ for Japanese older adults.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager (Japan) to lead the localization and cultural adaptation of ElliQ for the Japanese market. You’ll be at the intersection of product, design, research, and engineering—working closely with cross-functional teams in Israel and Greece, while deeply embedded in the needs, behaviors, and preferences of older Japanese adults.

This role is ideal for a native Japanese speaker (based in Japan) with strong UX instincts, experience in consumer-facing or assistive technologies, and a passion for building relationship-centered AI products that make a real difference.

Responsibilities

• Own the Japanese user experience: Define and drive ElliQ’s product localization to align with cultural norms, language, expectations, and behavioral patterns of older adults in Japan.
• Conduct in-depth user research (qualitative + quantitative) to understand needs, habits, barriers, and opportunities unique to the Japanese market - including real-life pilots with older adults in Japan.
• Define product roadmap and prioritization for Japan-specific features, content, tone of voice, and proactive interactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams (Product, R&D, UX, Design, Marketing, Business Development) to ensure alignment and deliver Japan-ready product releases - from the initial release in Japan.
• Lead Product UX/VUX planning tailored for Japanese conversational, visual, and auditory expectations, with attention to politeness, trust, and familiarity.

Act as the cultural bridge: Ensure that every part of the product—from features to conversation tone—resonates naturally with Japanese users.

Requirements:

• Native Japanese, with full professional proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Deep understanding of Japanese culture, especially older adults’ values, lifestyles, and digital interaction styles.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager of a complex, user-centric product (consumer tech, healthcare, or assistive tech preferred)
• Familiarity with AI/ML products, especially in consumer-facing contexts. Experience with LLM integrations across products.
• Strong analytical, research, and storytelling skills – moving insights into roadmap decisions and product improvements.
• Experience in UX, VUX, or HCI/HRI (Human-Robot Interaction), chatbots, voice assistants, or conversational interfaces – strong advantage.
• Comfortable working across cultures and time zones (Japan / Israel / Greece); a proactive communicator and collaborator.
• Excellent documentation, product specs, and communication skills in both Japanese and English. Self-starter, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
