🔹 Senior Technical Lead / Software Engineer (Full-Stack)
Location: Remote – U.S. Based ( 1st week in Maryland)
Company: International Responder Systems (IRS)
Employment Type: Full-Time
🌍 About Us
International Responder Systems builds advanced software platforms that power emergency response, grant management, and operational coordination for public-sector agencies and humanitarian organizations.
Our products are used to help responders act faster, collaborate smarter, and make data-driven decisions when it matters most.
🚀 The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software engineer— someone who’s equally comfortable writing clean, elegant code and driving architectural decisions that scale.
You’ll own major parts of our platform roadmap, guide engineering direction, and ensure our systems are fast, secure, and built for growth.
This is not a hands-off leadership role — we want someone who still codes daily, thinks deeply about concurrency and scalability, and enjoys crafting quality software that “feels right.”
🔧 What You’ll Do
- Lead full-stack development across multiple mission-critical products.
- Architect solutions that are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain.
- Implement robust data models, permissions, and access control frameworks.
- Build intuitive front-end experiences for complex workflows.
- Integrate mapping and geospatial visualization (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to turn ideas into production-ready features.
- Review code, mentor developers, and raise the technical bar across the team.
- Contribute to a modern, efficient SDLC with clear versioning, testing, and CI/CD practices.
🧠 What You Bring
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in modern web development (front-end and back-end).
- Strong background in database design, performance optimization, and RBAC/permission systems.
- Experience leading technical direction, architecture, and scaling decisions.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and data protection.
- Familiarity with mapping or GIS systems (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar).
- Ability to explain complex ideas clearly and collaborate across disciplines.
- A natural drive for craftsmanship — clean code, thoughtful patterns, and developer empathy.
💡 Why Join Us
- Work on meaningful products that support public safety and crisis response.
- Collaborate with a small, sharp, and mission-driven team.
- Lead with autonomy — your architectural decisions will directly shape the platform.
- Competitive compensation with long-term growth opportunities.
