We are seeking an experienced and strategic Aviation Program Manager to oversee and drive complex airport capital improvement projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in aviation construction, project delivery, and stakeholder coordination, preferably having served as an Owner’s Representative. The Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of airport programs—on time, on budget, and in accordance with the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of large-scale aviation capital improvement projects, including planning, design, and construction phases.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Represent the owner's interests and oversee project controls, risk management, scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Develop and implement project delivery strategies tailored to complex airport environments.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, local building codes, and environmental requirements.
- Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reports and presentations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Coordinate with architecture, engineering, and construction teams to ensure design intent and operational needs are met.
- Foster collaborative relationships with airport authorities, city officials, consultants, and community groups.
- Support procurement processes including RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in aviation program management.
- Proven track record supporting airport capital improvement and construction projects.
- Strong understanding of airport planning, regulatory requirements, and funding mechanisms.
- Experience acting as an Owner’s Representative is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously in a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, CCM, PE, AIA, or similar industry certification.
- Familiarity with major U.S. airport systems and capital project lifecycles.
- Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.)
Work Environment:
This role may involve a mix of office and on-site airport work environments. Some travel and after-hours availability may be required depending on project needs.
