Job Title: Mobile Game Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Month W2 Contract (with potential for extension)
We are seeking a Gameplay Software Engineer/Mobile Game Developer with a strong background in casual and mobile games to join a fast‑moving, consumer‑facing gaming team. This role is ideal for engineers who love building engaging game experiences, rapidly prototyping ideas, and working independently while collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
As an Engineer, you will contribute directly to game development initiatives from early prototyping to feature‑complete gameplay while partnering with other engineers for review, validation, and production handoff.
You will help design and build social, casual, and mobile-first game experiences, focusing on:
- Player engagement and re‑engagement mechanics
- Social gameplay and shared experiences
- Progression systems that encourage daily play
- Scalable foundations for future game expansion
Must‑Have Skills
- Game-focused engineering background
- Shipped multiple mobile or casual games
- Creativity portfolio showcasing gameplay or interactive experiences
- Familiarity with AI‑native workflows or AI‑assisted game development
- Experience building or contributing to social or multiplayer game experiences
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience collaborating across disciplines (design, product, art, QA)
- Cross‑functional (XFN) team experience in fast‑moving environments
- Background in live games, analytics‑driven iteration, or player retention systems
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and prototype casual and mobile games using industry‑standard frameworks
- Implement core gameplay systems such as: Daily loops and rewards, Player progression and retention mechanics and Social and cooperative features
- Own features end‑to‑end, from implementation through testing and delivery
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineers for validation and integration
- Maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and documentation
- Operate independently while meeting project milestones in a fast‑paced environment
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience building multiple mobile or casual games released on major app stores or game platforms
- Strong engineering foundation with hands‑on gameplay development experience
- Demonstrated understanding of casual and social game design patterns: Daily engagement loops, Progression systems and social mechanics
- Experience with rapid prototyping and iterating on gameplay ideas
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
