Who We Are
Were a tech-driven, energy-focused engineering company blending classic control systems with modern industrial data intelligence. Headed by a seasoned software engineer who jumped ship from corporate cloud to industrial technology, we now deliver cutting-edge solutions for smart buildings, efficient heating systems, and renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe.
From legacy control upgrades to solar PV integrations and CHP optimisation, our projects are as varied as they are rewarding. Were all about edge-to-cloud visibility, control system reliability, and reducing carbon footprints - without making things more complicated than they need to be.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a Controls Engineer who gets a buzz from commissioning well-built control panels, wiring up a PROFINET network, or writing tight SCL code that just works. Your role will include:
- Designing, programming, and commissioning PLCs and HMIs (primarily Siemens S7-1200/1500)
- Writing structured control logic in SCL (Structured Control Language)
- Building and maintaining communications with industrial devices via MODBUS, PROFINET, BACnet, OPC-UA
- Commissioning and tuning field instrumentation: Flow meters, VFDs, temperature sensors, actuators etc
- Integrating solar PV systems and other energy assets into centralised control platforms
- Deploying industrial edge compute devices to connect site data with higher-level platforms
- Visiting a mix of industrial and commercial sites (mostly UK-based). Some weeks you'll be out and about, others you'll be deep in TIA Portal from your home office
If you like varied work from clicking in terminal blocks to tuning PID loops to making systems play nicely together this role was built for you.
About You
- 3+ years in control system engineering or industrial automation
- Solid Siemens TIA Portal experience, including SCL and ladder logic
- Comfortable reading electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Confident working with industrial protocols and fieldbus systems, especially PROFINET
- Experience with edge compute (e.g., industrial gateways, embedded devices)
- Familiar with integrating renewables or energy systems (boilers, CHPs, solar) into controls
- A team player who can communicate clearly and confidently with clients on site
- Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence
Bonus: You've been the "person who fixed it" more times than you can count, and you enjoy it.
Why Join Us?
- Flexible, remote-first culture with meaningful site time
- No layers of bureaucracy just good engineering and a get it done attitude
- Projects that contribute to energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonisation
- A direct line to the founder and influence over the direction of our solutions
- European travel now and then to keep things interesting (passport required!)
