JavaScript WebGL Engineer

Project Overview:

We are looking for a skilled software engineer with a strong background in TypeScript/JavaScript development, a strong grasp of performance optimization and cross-platform development, interest in cutting-edge technologies and enthusiasm to join our Location Services Research & Development team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar technical degree
• 5+ years of experience in Software Development
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript
• 3+ years of experience in computer graphics (Three.js, WebGL)
• Good understanding of software algorithms and data structures
• Ability to write clean and tested code
• Experience in maintaining a large code base with long lifecycles
• Experience in developing multi-platform client-side web applications (mobile and desktop)
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented software engineering
• Experience in Agile software development (SCRUM)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

Will be a plus:

• Experience in GIS-related problem solving
• Understanding of web application performance optimisation
• Experience with common JavaScript Maps APIs

Responsibilities:

• Creation of the next generation 3D web-based map offering with cutting-edge technologies
• Design and implementation of mapping-related high-performance components for desktop and mobile use
• Write unit tests, debug performance bottlenecks, and handle cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Collaborate with designers and product stakeholders to ensure feasibility and performance.
• Document internal systems and workflows for team knowledge sharing.
