Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Spatial Data Scientist / Geospatial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geospatial analytics, data science methodologies, and hands-on experience with geospatial tools and data platforms. This role requires a highly analytical professional capable of scoping, conducting, and completing complex spatial data analyses to support decision-making across infrastructure, energy, and data center projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced spatial data analysis using GIS and related tools to extract insights and support project objectives.
- Develop and implement data models and analytical frameworks for geospatial and remote sensing data.
- Work with large and complex datasets from diverse sources including LiDAR, imagery, and remote sensing data.
- Utilize Python, SQL, GeoPandas, and related libraries to perform data wrangling, cleaning, and visualization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define analysis scope, methodologies, and deliverables.
- Implement solutions leveraging cloud-based analytics and geospatial data storage platforms.
- Communicate findings through visualizations, dashboards, and reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Geospatial Analyst.
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Geospatial Analytics, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and geospatial libraries such as GeoPandas, Shapely, and GDAL.
- Experience with remote sensing, LiDAR, or image analysis workflows.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and geospatial data storage systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Prior experience supporting infrastructure, energy, or data center projects is highly desirable.
