Job Description

Senior Software Engineer implements applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. This role is focused on building and maintaining backend systems in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment. The ideal candidate learns quickly, works independently, and communicates effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. They will also leverage test driven development and continuous integration to ensure agility and quality of products. They actively participate in the decision-making process of the team ensuring that the simplest appropriate technology and design is chosen to meet user needs.

While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, residency in Mexico is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides input into the architecture and design of the product; collaborating with the team in solving problems the right way
• Practices daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building product
• Participates in executing the strategy, keeping the customer needs and wants in mind
• Serves as an expert on a specific business domain and demonstrates leadership and accountability on at least one technology stack
• Coaches more junior team members around different technologies and XP practices
• Establishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices
• Provides support for software products in user environments
• Leads and participates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups
• Participates in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product
• Participates in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team’s backlog

Qualifications

• Strong senior-level experience (5–7 years) with C# and .NET Core, with a focus on building and maintaining backend services
• Solid understanding of SQL and data querying best practices
• Proficiency with LINQ for data manipulation
• Proven ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs
• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (C1 or C2 required)
• Ability to work independently while contributing in a collaborative team setting

Experience

• 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
