About the Role

Instant Financial needs a Staff Software Engineer to lead our frontend development efforts and establish technical excellence across our engineering organization. You'll be the primary decision-maker for all frontend architecture while building critical features in React Native and React.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role - expect to code 50-60% of the time while mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and collaborating with product teams on our financial technology platform.

Core Responsibilities

Technical

• Lead frontend architecture using React Native (Expo) and React with TypeScript
• Build cross-platform component libraries and design systems
• Contribute to Node.js backend services as needed
• Ensure security and compliance for financial applications

Leadership

• Make technical decisions affecting multiple teams
• Mentor 3-5 engineers on best practices and career growth
• Establish coding standards and review processes
• Drive adoption of new technologies and practices

Required Skills

• 6+ years software development experience
• Expert-level React and React Native with production apps
• Advanced TypeScript proficiency
• System design and architecture experience
• Full-stack capabilities (Node.js preferred)
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring

Nice to Have

• Fintech or regulated industry experience
• React Native New Architecture knowledge
• Express.js or other Node.js frameworks
• Mobile security implementation
• Open source contributions

Compensation & Benefits

Base: Competitive (Available upon request)

Bonus: 5-15%
