3D Game Designer / 3D Artist (Remote)

Role Description
This is a full-time, remote position for a 3D Game Designer / 3D Artist. The ideal candidate will have experience creating optimized, game-ready 3D assets and animations for Unity projects. You will work closely with game designers and Unity developers to create characters, environments, props, UI elements, and animations that meet both artistic and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality, game-ready 3D models for mobile and PC games.
- Design and model characters, props, environments, weapons, vehicles, and other game assets.
- Produce optimized low-poly and mid-poly assets with efficient topology.
- Create UV maps, bake textures, and develop PBR materials.
- Rig and animate characters, creatures, and objects.
- Create gameplay animations, including idle, walk, run, attack, interaction, and cinematic sequences.
- Optimize assets and animations for performance in Unity.
- Export and integrate assets following Unity-compatible workflows.
- Collaborate with Unity developers to ensure seamless asset implementation.
- Maintain visual consistency across the project and follow the established art style.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in game art or 3D asset creation.
- Strong portfolio showcasing game-ready 3D models and animation work.
- Proficiency in Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Experience with Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar texturing tools.
- Strong understanding of topology, UV mapping, texturing, lighting, and material creation.
- Experience with character rigging and skeletal animation.
- Knowledge of Unity asset pipelines and FBX export workflows.
- Ability to optimize assets for real-time rendering and mobile performance.
- Strong understanding of proportions, composition, color, and game art fundamentals.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating stylized or realistic game art.
- Knowledge of Unity animation systems and Avatar setup.
- Experience with VFX, particle effects, or shader workflows.
- Familiarity with procedural tools such as Substance Designer or Houdini.
- Experience working on shipped games or commercial game projects.
- Ability to create concept art or assist in defining visual direction is an advantage.
