Director of Sales and Marketing
The Director of Sales and Marketing is an executive position. This role involves overseeing both sales and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving ministry objectives. It is accountable for creating and implementing comprehensive sales and marketing plans that propel INSPIRE forward, setting realistic targets, developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to achieve ministry objectives such as revenue growth, lives impacted, and establishing new markets.
Strategic Planning and Execution
A key responsibility of the Director of Sales and Marketing is to develop comprehensive sales and go-to-market strategies that align with INSPIRES’ overall objectives. This involves:
- Setting realistic, measurable targets for sales and marketing teams
- Creating short-term and long-term plans for revenue growth
- Developing and Deploying a new strategy for growing group sales
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy adjustments
Budget Management and Resource Allocation
Effective budget management and resource allocation are critical to the success of the Director of Sales and Marketing. This involves:
- Pursuing savvy agreements with strategic partners for marketing in kind
- Creating and overseeing sales and marketing budgets
- Allocating resources effectively across various initiatives
- Analyzing return on investment for marketing campaigns and sales efforts
Market Research and Analysis
The Director of Sales and Marketing must get ahead of market trends and competitor strategies. This involves:
- Conducting thorough market research to identify opportunities and trends in faith based travel
- Analyzing competitor strategies and market positioning
- Using data to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments
Experiences Development
The Director of Sales and Marketing plays a key role in experience and service development, enhancing or establishing experiences that align with market demand. This involves:
- Collaborating with experience and resources teams to align experiences with market demand
- Providing pricing strategies and “product” positioning of our experiences
- Identifying new market opportunities for existing tours or services
Additionally, the Director works closely with other departments, such as guest experiences, finance and growth, and resources to ensure aligned goals and effective communication.
Requirements and skills
- In-depth knowledge of corporate sales and Marketing best practices
- Proficiency in CRM software and marketing automation tools
- Data analysis, interpretation and forecasting capabilities
- Understanding of digital marketing platforms and techniques, including social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO)
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to travel is required as we are an experience focused organization
- Some availability on weekends will be required
- BSc/BA in marketing, business or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment is necessary
