P&C Project Manager
Summary
The position is responsible for the successful delivery of project initiatives within a Portfolio and Project Management Group. This role executes projects that enable the realization of strategic objectives and tactical business plan goals.

- Leads IT projects from start to finish, which may include the implementation or customization of commercial off-the-shelf software applications, mobile/web technologies, system integrations, software upgrades, Intelligent Automation (RPA), and infrastructure.
- Manages three (3) or more projects simultaneously, depending on project complexity, duration, and lifecycle phase. Average project duration is 6–8 months.
- Manages a project team of matrixed resources, resolving challenges presented by resource and schedule availability in matrixed organizations.
- Creates and maintains detailed project schedules for accurate schedule tracking and progress reporting.
- Reconciles project team time cards with planned hours in the project plan and investigates variances between planned and actual time. Adjusts project task effort/duration as necessary to maintain correct forecast of ETC.
- Maintains and reconciles the project financial forecast; investigates and resolves variances between forecast and actual project costs.
- Follows documented Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes, procedures, and templates.
- Anticipates, identifies, and manages project risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions; escalates as appropriate.
- Prepares twice-monthly project status reports for each assigned project.
- Meets regularly with project team(s), business sponsors/stakeholders, and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitates the completion, approval, and storage of project artifacts.
- Ensures compliance with project management governance standards.
- Develops project charters, communication plans, risk management plans, resource plans, and project reporting structures.
- Supports the maturation and improvement of the PMO practice by providing feedback and support.
- Ensures project management methodologies and change management procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

- 5 to 7+ years of current project management experience delivering IT projects with a minimum budget of $150K.
- Proven success in delivering IT projects from start to finish.
- Familiarity with effort-driven project planning techniques in MS Project.
- Demonstrates proficiency in planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling IT projects.
- Project Management Institute PMP Certification preferred.
- Experience managing development projects in financial services or insurance.
- Experience managing vendors and executing Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Demonstrates a personal sense of urgency to complete work and drive results from the project team.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to deliver difficult messages to stakeholders and leaders.
- Strong customer focus; consultative, collaborative, and responsive work approach.
- Experience managing and forecasting project financials (reconciling invoices, timekeeping, etc.).
- Ability to create clear, concise messaging for all organizational levels.
- Exercises sound judgment in making decisions from complex options.
- Willing to develop technical understanding of systems and architecture.
- Ability to learn project management and financial planning tools as required.
